Course Design: Assessment

Assessment in an online course is much like assessment in any classroom. During the early phases of course planning learning objectives are established and assessment items are created to measure attainment of those objectives. An instructor may use objective tests, checklists, or rubrics as assessment instruments. The choice of assessment depends on the objectives and also on the nature of the assignment.
